Old Settlers Cabin, Lincoln Statue and Fort Dixon Site

The Abraham Lincoln statue is located in the former Fort Dixon site next to the old settlers memorial cabin located in Dixon, Illinois. Abraham Lincoln served in the Army here at Fort Dixon, IL. The cabin was built in 1894 as a memorial to the early settlers of the Rock River Valley. Landowners of the region each provided an initialed log to erect the cabin. The cabin was moved to its’ present site in the Lincoln Statue Park in 1969. The cabin is maintained and open for display on certain days of the year by the Lee County Historical and Genealogical Society. Call for information.
